I somehow stumbled upon my blog again.. and reading the past posts brings back some memories! I'm so glad I blogged.. and I wish I had continued but well, I had a lot going on, and of course, I'm lazy!
I thought I would start writing my blog when I wrote my last post but that didn't work out as planned either. I won't make any promises anymore!
Okay then, let me give you an update of what's going on with me. Freshman year is almost over now! Frighteningly quick, I must say. I remember thinking "there's still four months still college begins... it'll take forever!!" And now here I am, with only one more day of classes remaining for freshman year! I don't want college to be over too soon!
It's been a fun year. Not too fun academically though. Personally I don't feel like I'm doing too bad but then my grades say otherwise and I'm forced to believe I must not have done as well as I thought. Why do I screw my exams towards the end of the semester? I procrastinate too much I think. No wonder I end up staying up all night before every major assignment or exam. I should develop a better routine... but of course, that is very unlikely to happen.
In any case, my grades aren't that bad either.
Oh and yea.. this gone weekend was spring weekend! I only went to two events: the comedy show by Leo Allen and the concert. Leo dissapointed with his comedy despite his seemingly great credentials. The concert was fun though. G-punch the school's band was amazing.. and Kevin Lyttle was great as well, quite an entertainer. T.I., the supposedly big hip hop artist was liked by many, it seems, but I'm not too much into hip hop so it was ok for me. Simply feeling the music vibrate through me was awesome though!
Umm.. I am really tired right now. Stayed up all last night working on a take-home quiz. With a little help from Matt at 8 in the morning, I was done with it by 9. It was a very frustrating quiz as I was stuck on one for hours!! And I hate being stuck on a math problem... it's super frustrating when you know you can do it, the book is right there, but for some reason it just doesn't work out! I'm glad it's over though.
I've work at 8.30 tonight so I've set up my alarm for 8pm. Hopefully I won't sleep through it.
And oh yea.. I almost forgot about the poster presentation we did in the ISP class today for practice before the symposium on wednesday! I finished preparing mine like minutes before the class and was almost delayed by people who were printing out pages and pages of what-not at the library printer. And when I finally got my turn, it printed double-sided!!! But I was late already so I ran to class with those... thankfully we did the peer-review thing rather than having Prof. Draper look at it.
Alright then.. I better get some rest. I'll try to post updates at times... if i remember that is!

i haven't posted in ages!!!! college has been busy and i got kinda fed up with blogging... but right now i've so much work that it's frustrating. 2 papers and a test tomorrow and nothing's done yet! :(
oh well, i guess i should stop typing this post and get back to my post! arghh.. this might be an all-nighter!!

ahh nepal and politics
... still no light in sight at the end of the tunnel. seems like this political turmoil is going to last forever!! i am unsure whom to side with either. political parties... they started this mess with bad governance and corruption; maoists... ruthless but useless with an impractical ideology; king.. failed to keep his promise!
u just can't help being influenced by the intense political atmosphere here!
if it werent' for this stupid week-long "bandh", i'd have started on my job already. now i'll have to wait until the 17th! well... i'm not disappointed abt the late start, just disappointed abt the late paycheck i'll be receiving.. hehe!
anyway, i think i'll get my bike fixed tomorrow and speed around the empty streets. well.. much better than stayin at home watchin tv!

jan's gone
wow! it's been exactly a month since I last updated! hehe... :)
ok so wut have i been up to?.. i. umm.. got a JOB! yay! :D.. well.. it's only for a few months but anyway, it's cool havin ur own money to spend on wut u like! and the job entails teachin the SAT, TOEFL etc. so it's not too difficult either.
in other news, i'm done with all college applications (unless of course, i decide to apply to more later on!). so i'm happy abt tht.
and.. umm.. i've been tryin to keep myself busy learnin new softwares. right now i'm using 3D studio max. it's kinda cool actually but difficult to learn by oneself. so wut i do is download tutorial stuff off the internet, use it and then try sth similar on my own. here i used a tutorial to make this football.. the patterns have still not been aligned well though.
i've been playing football too (tht's soccer for u americans!). we played for a little too long this saturday however. my thighs still ache from all tht playing!! oh and after the game, i forgot to pack my boots!! darn. tht pair cost me quite a lot and now it's gone.. ughh. :( i'm really careless! to date, i've lost three pairs of boots out of four tht i've owned since grade 10. the 1st one was a cheap one and wore out in a couple of weeks! the second pair i left behind in a taxi. third pair just ceased to exist one day!! o_O .. (btw can someone tell me wut this smiley means? hehe)
anyway, i'll try and be more regular about postin from now on. though of course, this sounds like an empty promise coz i said tht last time too! hehe.. but i'll really try this time. much will depend on how much free time i've with me though! :)

flat as a tyre
i just had my first flat tyre today!!! I was just leaving my home on my bike for the computer class when I felt my bike act funny. At first I thought the tyres had come loose or something.. So I stopped, and without getting off the bike, took a quick look. The tyres seemed to be held firmly in place. I rode more cautiously but I still felt this wobble!.. Only after some intense deliberation did it occur to me that it could be the tyres! So I turned to look at the back tyre, and sure enough it was totally flat!
Now that I had figured the problem, I needed to find a place that had the solution. But i didn't know any place nearby. So I just went wobbling around until I found a small vehicle workshop. The guy said he could fix it. I looked at my watch 9.15! My class begins at 9.00 but I usually leave home around 9.05 so that I can get to the institute by 9.15. well this is because, nothing really happens in the first 15 mins of class... and why rob myself of some extra minutes of sleep? And in any case, once my spanish classes restart from sunday, i can't make it to the institute by 9.15 anyway.
well.. getting back to the flat tyre, i asked this guy how much time it would take and he said "20 minutes"... umm ok. i decided to wait.
he was finally done at 9.35! very punctual. "how much?" i asked. "bis rupaiyah (Rs. 20)" he said. so i reached into my pocket for my wallet and... wait.. where's my wallet? my wallet wasn't there!! damn! so i said "look, it seems like i've left my wallet at home... i'll be right back." i'd decided to take a taxi home and be back with the money. just as i was abt to leave he said "don't u have ANY money at all? not even a few rupees?".. "none." he thought for a second and said "ok go get your wallet. take the bike."
i was sooo thankful. i raced home.. located my wallet and raced back. i handed him rs. 100 since i'd no change.. but he only returned rs. 70!.. "how much did u say it cost again?" i asked. "tis rupaiyah (Rs. 30)" he replied! ok...
i don't know if he lied to me the second time or if i heard it wrong the first time, but i was fine with it. 30 sounded pretty reasonable to me.. actually it was lesser than i expected to pay!.. moreover he trusted me (or i'd also have to pay for the cab too) and i was grateful for that!
it was already 9.50 by then though.. so i raced to the institute.. only to find that more than half the class was absent today and so the teacher was recappin on last day's classwork!!
